The Inventory & Operations Manager holds overall responsibility for running our Bengalurudark store day to day, and owns the full inventory cycle hands-on from forecasting and ordering, through receiving, verifying and booking stock, to listing it for sale and reporting on how the store is performing. This is the operating role on the floor: you set the daily plan, personally gate-keep incoming stock, and the rest of the team works to your plan. The role is hands-on most planning, tracking and reporting happens in spreadsheets and our systems, while goods receipt and quality checks happen on the floor.

What you'll do
- Forecast daily and weekly demand using historical sales data, and prepare the procurement list of what to order, item by item.
- Place orders with vendors, coordinate on pricing and delivery, and track payments and reimbursements.
- Receive deliveries at the gate, oversee unloading and organising goods by category, do an initial count, and flag any visible damage on arrival.
- Match every line on the vendor invoice to the goods physically received quantity, weight and rate and resolve any shortfalls, excess or damaged stock, raising credit notes where needed.
- Quality-check incoming goods, paying close attention to freshness and shelf-life on fresh produce and dairy, and accept or reject accordingly.
- Record accepted goods into the system accurately quantity, cost, batch and manufacturing/expiry dates.
- Run the daily stock review: identify what is out of stock, what is running low, and what is sitting in bulk but not yet listed for sale, then decide what gets packed that day and in what pack sizes.
- Add items to the app and approve when stock goes live making sure product details, pricing, weights and availability are correct and own inventory accuracy across both bulk stock and listed items.
- Manage shelf-life and expiry across fresh produce and dairy, and keep wastage and stock losses to a minimum.
- Prepare and share daily reports sales, stock position, out-of-stock items, packing output, wastage and any issues so the team and founders have a clear daily picture of the store.
- Maintain clean, auditable records of every delivery and entry, and ensure storage, handling and product labeling meet FSSAI, Legal Metrology and food-safety standards.
