About the internship
To support the Trading Technology team in monitoring, maintaining, and managing trading applications and related infrastructure. The internship provides hands-on exposure to trading systems, Linux-based environments, application monitoring, production support processes, automation, and financial market technology, helping candidates build a strong foundation in application support and trading operations. Duration: 6 months
Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring and supporting trading applications and related infrastructure. Support Beginning of Day (BOD) and End of Day (EOD) operational activities for trading platforms. Monitor application performance, system availability, and server health to ensure smooth operations. Assist in troubleshooting application issues and analyzing system and application logs. Support deployment activities, patch implementation, and routine maintenance of Production and UAT environments. Assist in automating repetitive operational tasks using Shell Scripting and/or Python. Coordinate with internal technology teams for issue resolution and operational support activities. Maintain operational documentation, incident reports, and troubleshooting records. Assist in monitoring infrastructure, applications, and system alerts through various monitoring tools. Learn and understand trading application workflows, exchange connectivity, and financial market operations. Support day-to-day activities related to application support, system monitoring, and operational excellence. Qualifications: Graduation completed or currently pursuing in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines. Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems. Understanding of Shell Scripting; knowledge of Python will be an added advantage. Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and server environments. Interest in financial markets, trading systems, and technology operations. Competencies:
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and system administration concepts. Understanding of Shell Scripting; Python knowledge will be preferred. Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to analyse logs and identify operational issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and documentation skills. Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Interest in trading technologies, stock markets, and financial services.
