Todds is a premium, handcrafted children's products brand built on a vintage-modern design philosophy and a strong 'Made-in-India' conviction. Operated by Studio Anka Private Limited, Todds manufactures kids' ride-on products - including bicycles and scooters - with in-house capabilities in metal fabrication, powder coating, chemical pre-treatment, and assembly. We are a lean, partner-led organisation with three verticals - manufacturing, CRM & dispatch, and accounts - and we work with retail partners including Mothercare India. This is a hands-on job inside a real production environment, not a desk exercise. As an 'industrial engineer' at Todds, you will work directly on the production floor and in planning functions. You will be responsible for observing, analysing, and improving manufacturing processes - from metal parts fabrication and pre-treatment through powder coating, assembly, and dispatch. This role is ideal for someone who wants real-world exposure to a growing manufacturing brand, building premium products from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
A. Process documentation & SOPs:
Study and document existing production processes across metal fabrication, 9-stage chemical pre-treatment, powder coating, assembly, and finished goods handling
Draft, update, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each production stage
Develop visual work instructions and process flow charts for the shop floor
B. Time & motion studies:
Conduct time studies across key production stages to establish standard cycle times
Identify bottlenecks, idle time, and non-value-adding activities in the production flow
Support capacity planning and output targets based on actual floor data
C. Quality & rejection analysis:
Set up simple tracking systems for defect rates, rework, and scrap at each stage
Analyse rejection data to identify root causes and support corrective actions

Propose and help implement layout improvements with measurable impact
E. Cost & productivity improvement:
Support bill of materials (BOM) tracking and input cost analysis for new product lines
Identify opportunities to reduce material waste, energy use, or process steps without quality compromise
Contribute to make-vs-buy analysis for components under evaluation
F. Product development (depending on your duration and contribution):
1 Work on production ramp-up for the Todds bicycle and scooter line
Work on BOM and assembly process design for new SKUs
Work on the stroller product line groundwork assembly mapping and supplier quality assessment
Work on the finished goods storage and dispatch process improvement
Work on pre-treatment and powder coating process optimisation (chemical stages, dry-off, cure parameters)
