Role Description This is a full-time, on-site History Teacher role based at The Green Acres Academys Mumbai campuses. The History Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the ICSE curriculum, using a variety of instructional strategies and resources to build historical knowledge and critical thinking. Responsibilities include designing unit plans and assessments, integrating world and regional historical perspectives, and incorporating inquiry-based learning, discussions, and project work. The role involves monitoring and documenting learner progress, providing constructive feedback, and communicating regularly with families and colleagues. The teacher will also collaborate with the academic team on curriculum development, participate in professional learning and school events, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. Qualifications
- Strong subject-matter expertise in History, including World History and American History, with the ability to connect historical themes to contemporary issues.
- Proficiency in History Education and Lesson Planning, with experience designing engaging activities that foster critical thinking, analysis, and discussion.
- Experience in Curriculum Development, ideally within the ICSE framework or similar, including creating units, assessments, and differentiated learning pathways.
- Bachelors degree or higher in History, Education, or a related field; formal teacher training or certification is preferred.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive, learner-centered pedagogy.
- Comfort using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience teaching at the school level (middle and/or high school) is preferred; openness to professional learning and reflective practice is essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, support co-curricular initiatives, and uphold the schools mission and values.
