Role Overview
JLL is seeking a Head of Communications, REMS to lead communications strategy for JLL's Real Estate Management Services business line, serving as the primary advisor to the REMS CEO and leadership team on all internal, business and executive/external communications matters. This role sets the communications agenda across REMS, including building internal communications that align employees with business strategy, supporting business and operational updates and owning the strategy and sequencing of the CEO's external positioning and thought leadership. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive communications experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity, with a proven track record counseling senior executives and managing complex, matrixed stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
Serve as the primary point of contact for the REMS CEO and leadership team on all communications matters, setting the internal communications agenda for the business line
Develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of a comprehensive internal communications strategy tailored to REMS diverse stakeholder groups
Lead strategic communications to REMS’s employees ensuring alignment with REM’s business objectives and JLL's overall corporate strategy
Craft compelling messaging and content customized for different segments of the REM´s employee base based on their roles and affiliations within the business line

Design and execute impactful leadership town halls and other communication forums in partnership with the global leadership team
Create and maintain regular communication cadences that strengthen organizational culture and drive engagement
Develop communication materials that effectively translate complex business strategies into clear, actionable information for all levels of the organization
Embrace innovative technologies, including AI and data platforms, to optimize communication processes and improve engagement across the organization.
Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make data-driven adjustments to strategy
Partner with JLL’s central Internal Communications team to leverage enterprise-wide channels and content, localizing and tailoring for REMS rather than building parallel infrastructure
Business and Operational Communications
Support communications for various organizational forums
Develop and distribute communications regarding operational changes, business updates, and strategic initiatives
Ensure alignment of business communications with organizational goals and cultural values
Create materials that effectively communicate business performance and market insights to internal stakeholders
Executive Positioning and External Strategy
Own the strategy and roadmap for the REMS CEO’s external presence and thought leadership, ensuring REMS speaks with one voice and on a coherent set of priorities. Coordinate and sequence input from Corporate Communications, PR agency partners, eminence programming, and other contributing teams so that opportunities reaching the CEO are vetted, prioritized, and aligned to strategy, including to:
define the small set of topics the CEO should be recognized as the authority on, and translate that into a clear positioning strategy and editorial roadmap spanning media, speaking, social/LinkedIn, and eminence – maintaining the topical consistency needed for durable recognition in both traditional and AI-driven search (GEO)
serve as the single point of approval for media, speaking, and high-visibility opportunities reaching the CEO, ensuring they align to strategy before they reach his calendar
brief and direct the PR agency partne on the specific topics and opportunities that fit the CEO’s positioning strategy, declining coverage and engagements that fall outside it even when available, to protect topical consistency
partner with the eminence function on a content and editorial calendar (e.g., LinkedIn) consistent with the CEO’s positioning strategy
retain ownership of sequencing and final sign-off on opportunities and content reaching the CEO, so that contributing teams execute against one coordinated strategy rather than competing directly for his time
measure and report on the impact of the CEO’s positioning strategy across media, speaking, and eminence channels
Ensure consistency of messaging across internal and external platforms
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
Demonstrated experience developing and executing global internal communications strategies
Strong track record owning executive positioning strategy and counseling senior leaders, with the credibility to direct and sequence work across PR agencies, eminence teams, and other contributing functions
Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Experience working in matrix organizations and navigating complex stakeholder environments
Proven ability to translate complex business information into compelling narratives
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience in real estate, professional services, or related industries preferred
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing communications teams

Travel Requirements
This position will require being in the JLL Chicago downtown office majority of the week and may require up to 20-25% travel to support global initiatives and key meetings.
This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated compensation for this position:
187,000.00 – 215,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
