THE ROLE:
The Diesel Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in a Xylem Service Center, Customer job site or via phone. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.
- Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.
- Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.
- Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed. Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.
- Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.
- Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.
- Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.
- Participate in monthly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- 1-2 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
