Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer for Garment Manufacturing role based in Surat. The Fashion Designer will create and develop garment designs from concept to production, including sketching, selecting fabrics and trims, and preparing detailed tech packs for manufacturing. The role involves working closely with pattern makers and sampling teams to ensure accurate fittings, refine silhouettes, and maintain design integrity through multiple iterations. The designer will coordinate with production and merchandising teams to align collections with brand requirements, cost targets, and delivery timelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include trend and market research, developing seasonal collections, reviewing embroidery and surface ornamentation, approving fabric and color selections, and supporting quality checks to ensure garments meet fit, finish, and aesthetic standards. Qualifications
- Strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, with the ability to translate concepts into production-ready garments.
- Knowledge of Textiles and fabric behavior, including suitability for different silhouettes, washes, and embellishments.
- Experience with Embroidery and surface ornamentation, including coordinating artwork, placements, and production feasibility.
- Proficiency in Fitting, including working with patterns and samples to achieve accurate sizing, balance, and comfort.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools) for sketches, flats, and tech packs.
- Understanding of garment manufacturing processes, from sampling to bulk production, preferably in a factory setting.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple styles and seasons simultaneously.
- Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams on the production floor.
