The Opportunity We are looking for a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead the Insights team at Postman. This role sits at the intersection of AI-powered developer workflows, observability, and platform engineering. What You’ll Do Lead engineering strategy, execution, and delivery for the Agentic Onboarding and Insights pods Define and execute clear technical roadmaps, milestones, and success criteria Drive architectural decisions and provide deep technical leadership across backend systems and distributed platforms Stay hands-on with coding, debugging, prototyping, and technical problem-solving on a day-to-day basis Mentor and support engineers through a culture of trust, psychological safety, and high performance Help stabilize and grow a team transitioning from previous leadership changes Partner closely with Product, Design, GTM, and leadership teams to align engineering outcomes with business goals Participate in customer conversations, sales engagements, and feedback loops to better understand user pain points Build scalable engineering practices with strong institutional thinking and engineering rigor Balance execution across two distinct domains: AI-driven onboarding and autonomous workflows Observability and insights platform capabilities Collaborate effectively across globally distributed teams, particularly with stakeholders in the US Challenges You’ll Tackle Driving execution in a product area with evolving requirements and unshipped capabilities Managing two technically distinct product domains simultaneously Balancing deep technical contribution with people leadership Coordinating effectively across India and US time zones Directly exposure to work with customers on front line About You Must Have 10–12+ years of backend engineering experience Strong hands-on technical depth with the ability to dive deep into complex engineering problems 4+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams Strong institutional thinking and ability to grow engineers Comfortable coding regularly while managing teams Experience working in larger-scale engineering organizations Experience collaborating with cross functional teams Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and support sales conversations Strong experimentation mindset with comfort around testing and prototyping new technologies Nice to Have Experience with observability platforms, telemetry, monitoring, or developer tooling Exposure to AI systems, autonomous workflows, or agentic architectures Mix of startup and large-company experience Experience scaling teams and organizations Background at companies operating at significant scale such as Meta, Netflix, or similar engineering environments Why This Role is Exciting Opportunity to shape two strategic product areas aligned with Postman’s long-term AI vision Build and scale engineering pods from a lean foundation Work on an Insights platform with significant market potential in observability High ownership with clear roadmaps and measurable impact Deep exposure to customer feedback and real-world developer workflows Opportunity to work closely with experienced engineering leadership that has scaled organizations from early-stage teams to large global engineering groups What Else? We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, Tokyo and London.
