Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with 4 to 7 years of experience to support oil and gas engineering projects. You will specialize in creating, reviewing, and verifying Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings. This role focuses on defining hazardous boundaries, preparing technical layouts, and ensuring strict compliance with international safety codes.
Key Responsibilities
- HAC Drafting: Create detailed HAC drawings for oil and gas facilities using AutoCAD 2D.
- Boundary Definition: Define hazardous area boundaries using process equipment data and material properties.
- Area Classification: Assign appropriate Class, Division, or Zone classifications to identified plant areas.
- Layout Design: Prepare and review HAC layouts showing Class/Division/Zone, Gas Groups, and Temperature Classes (T-ratings).
- Technical Oversight: Mentor junior drafters, resolve design issues, and provide technical clarifications.
- Standardization: Create checklists, workflow guidance documents, and standardized design templates.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analysis for design errors, capture lessons learned, and run training sessions.
