The Applications Development Group Manager / Digital Design Service Pillar Lead is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
- The Digital Design Service Pillar Lead is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously evolving the digital design and engineering capabilities that power Citi's Oracle Ledger, Accounting, and Controls Technology applications. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on delivery leadership, driving a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, UI developers, backend and full-stack engineers, and AI/ML engineers to deliver modern, resilient, and intelligent financial technology solutions.
- The successful candidate will define and own the pillar's capability roadmap across five core domains: Enhanced User Experience (UX), Architectural & System Design Governance, Dashboard Analytics & Insights, AI Integration, and Accelerated Development & Operational Resilience. They will act as a senior technology leader, influencing engineering culture, championing innovation, and ensuring delivery outcomes are aligned to Finance Technology's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Digital Design Service Pillar, setting the strategic direction and delivery roadmap across all five capability domains for Oracle Ledger, Accounting, and Controls Technology applications, including budget accountability, resource planning, and risk management.
- Define and govern application methodologies, architecture standards, and design guidelines across the full SDLC — from UX and system design through to development, performance and security testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build and lead a high-performing UX capability encompassing user research, design systems, accessibility, and inclusive design, embedding feedback and iteration loops into the product development lifecycle and measuring the strategic business impact of UX investment.
- Establish and govern the application architecture strategy for the pillar, including tech stack selection, architecture patterns, performance benchmarks, SLAs, quality assurance & testing frameworks and data governance policies, ensuring all solutions adhere to Citi's enterprise architecture blueprint and security standards.
