Design Engineer

Seeking a skilled professional with experience in product design of automotive Exterior and interior plastics parts for global automotive OEMs. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to drive complete product development cycle (RFQ to TKO) stages, support on regulation checks and drawing package creation.

Design and develop plastics trims for global passenger cars.

· Perimeters: Bumper, Tailgate, Lighting, Body Claddings, interior trims, I/P, floor console

· Interact with client engineers, understand the inputs and execute the designs independently with little supervision.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to manage deliverables, participate in design reviews and meetings and achieve program requirements.

· Lead a team of 2-3 members for a perimeter/ program.

· Good communication skills to discuss with onsite engineers and clients to understand the requirements.

B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 3–9 years in plastics product design for automotive cars

· PD tools: CATIA V5, NX, Teamcenter, Windchill

· Strong knowledge of product development cycle (NPD), plastics materials and manufacturing processes.

· Good knowledge of plastics design guidelines and tooling fundamentals.

· knowledge of automotive safety standards like ECE & FMVSS desirable.

· Skills to perform regulatory checks on style surfaces for passenger & pedestrian safety (ECE-26).

· Skills on assembly management and OEM drawing creation will be added advantage

· Working knowledge with European or American clients with cross cultural sensitivity.

· Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening.
