We are looking for a compassionate, empathetic, and motivated counselling psychology intern to support cancer patients and caregivers through emotional wellness initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to psycho-oncology, supportive counseling, caregiver support, and mental health advocacy while contributing to a meaningful social impact initiative.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include
Conduct supportive conversations with cancer patients and caregivers to understand their emotional concerns, challenges, and psychosocial needs.
Provide empathetic listening, emotional support, and basic counseling interventions.
Assist caregivers in managing stress, burnout, grief, uncertainty, and adjustment-related concerns.
Conduct regular follow-ups with patients and caregivers to ensure continuity of emotional support and well-being.
Facilitate mental wellness activities, support groups, and psychoeducation initiatives for patients and families.
Develop psycho-oncology awareness content, mental health resources, and educational materials for community outreach.
Maintain confidential documentation, interaction notes, and progress records following ethical guidelines.
Participate in case discussions, training programs, and team meetings to strengthen counseling skills.

Other requirements
Pursuing or completed a bachelor's/master's degree in psychology, counselling psychology, clinical psychology, applied psychology, social work, or a related field.
Strong interest in psycho-oncology, cancer care, mental health, and caregiver support.
Comfortable engaging in sensitive conversations with patients and families facing health-related challenges.
Demonstrates empathy, emotional maturity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards in all interactions.
Prior experience in counseling, NGOs, helplines, healthcare settings, or patient support initiatives is a plus but not mandatory.
