Content Developer (English)

About the job

We are seeking an English subject-matter expert with expertise in reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, creative writing, and persuasive writing for Years 1-10 (Australian Curriculum aligned). The SME will be responsible for developing and reviewing lesson materials, designing assessments, and ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills to excel in exams and schoolwork.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, review, and refine English lesson materials for Years 1-10.

1. Create reading comprehension passages, grammar exercises, vocabulary tasks, and writing prompts that are aligned with curriculum standards.

1. Design MCQs, short-answer, and extended writing tasks, along with detailed marking keys and model answers.

1. Develop engaging sample texts (narrative, persuasive, expository) for students to analyse and emulate.

1. Collaborate with our content team to improve and update existing resources for lessons, tests, and homework booklets.

1. Ensure content is clear, error-free, and suitable for students from diverse language backgrounds.

Other requirements

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, education, linguistics, or a related field.

1. Strong command of grammar, spelling, and writing conventions.

1. Ability to explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.

1. Exceptional written English with an eye for detail and accuracy.
