Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include
Review and Modify Site Drawings: Read, interpret, and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings to match project-specific requirements.
Supervise Expansion Joint Cover Installation: Oversee on-site assembly and installation of specialized expansion joint covers, ensuring architectural profiles (floor, wall, facade, or roof variants) are correctly aligned, leveled, anchored, and integrated smoothly with the adjacent concrete structure.
Manage and Coordinate Site Labor: Handle daily labor allocation, monitor workforce productivity, and ensure on-site profile execution strictly follows technical manuals, construction drawings, and safety protocols.
Perform Quantity Estimation & Billing: Conduct accurate material quantity take-offs to prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Materials (BOM) for ongoing and upcoming project phases.
Support Project Documentation & Client Updates: Prepare technical site submittals, daily/weekly site progress reports, and PowerPoint presentations to update the senior team and clients on project milestones.
Utilize AI Tools for Communication: Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to draft professional site emails, summarize lengthy client/vendor communication threads, and streamline project documentation.
Ensure Quality Assurance: Review on-site installation work and paperwork meticulously, maintaining a strong focus on error-free, visually flush, and functionally sound joint layouts.
Demonstrate Product & Technical Agility: Show a keen interest in learning, rapidly absorb system-specific technical knowledge, and easily adapt to the company's full catalog of expansion joint profiles and architectural systems.
