Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities
Lead chemical failure analysis activities using advanced analytical techniques such as ICP-MS, GC-MS, IC, and VPD for semiconductor materials and processes.
Drive qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, chemicals, ultra-pure water, and process samples to support manufacturing and quality programs.
Own method development, optimization, and validation for chemical analysis and contamination monitoring.
Interpret complex analytical data to identify contamination sources and provide actionable insights for process improvement and yield enhancement.
Oversee calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments to ensure high accuracy, reliability, and uptime.
Establish and enforce contamination control practices, including proper sample handling, labelling, and cleanroom protocols.
Collaborate with Process, Facilities, Quality, and Reliability teams to resolve chemical-related issues and excursions.

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for contamination and failure events.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (CIT) to enhance analytical capability, throughput, and data quality.
Mentor and train engineers and technicians on chemical analysis techniques, lab practices, and data interpretation.
Support lab operations, including capacity planning, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal and global stakeholders.
Travel may be required.

Good understanding of semiconductor materials, chemicals, and contamination control
Experience in method development, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments
Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and chemical handling standards
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive technical solutions
Desired Experience Level
10–15+ years of experience in semiconductor / chemical analysis / analytical lab environment
Strong hands-on experience in advanced chemical analysis techniques
Proven track record in contamination control, yield improvement, and failure analysis
Experience in leading teams and managing lab operations
Experience in semiconductor fab, ultra-pure water systems, or chemical supply chain is a plus
