We are currently seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).
Oracle DBA:
3–8+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Experience with performance tuning and SQL optimization.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with PL/SQL and Shell scripting.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of Db2 architecture, database objects, and utilities.
Proficient in SQL and database performance tuning.
Technical skills – DB2 DBA, IBM Power Systems and IBM i administration, Ansible, Python, or Shell scripting, Db2 HADR, TSA (Tivoli System Automation), or PowerHA, IBM Data Studio, Db2 Command Line Processor (CLP), and IBM Navigator for i.
Roles & Responsibilities for both roles:
Perform database installation, configuration, patching and upgrades in a SOX compliant environment
Install, Configure, Manage and Monitor databases
Performance Optimization, Troubleshooting
Data Modeling, Database Security and Audit Compliance
Install, configure and integrate third party applications and tools as needed
Develop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, preventing customer impact
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards
Configure and optimize Solaris/AIX/Linux servers to support databases
Install RPMs, set kernel/TCP parameters, optimize IO subsystem and system layout for Databases
Control and monitor user access to databases and ensure regulatory and security compliance
Work with application service owners and technical leads to ensure project and service deliverables are met
Provide database expertise to project teams to maximize system availability, efficiency, and security
Collaborate with development teams and 3rd party vendors throughout the development life cycle regarding optimal use of database resources and features
Design, build, test and deploy database solutions for projects
Collaborates with all members of IT to ensure successful application and database implementations
Own database related problems, pursue problem resolution and root cause analysis.
Assist vendor support services as well as IT team members to quickly resolve problems
Monitor and analyze database performance and make changes to optimize performance
Work with development/support teams to optimize SQL statements
Solve production problems in a timely manner, including off hours and weekend support when necessary
Validate backup strategy, perform on demand backups, and restores
Develop new backup and recovery processes that leverage new techniques and technology
Scripting and automating using Powershell, Perl, Shell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python
Identifying server hardware, software, and configurations as necessary for an optimal DB
Address incoming calls / emails on L2 issues; Troubleshoot and issue resolution
