Rotoflow, an Air Products Business, is seeking a first-shift Assembly Technician, Monday through Friday from 6:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., at our Rotoflow headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This role supports the manufacture of new and rebuilt turbomachinery equipment in accordance with high-level safety policies and procedures, manufacturing methods, applicable codes and standards, and the ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System.
Rotoflow is a full-service OEM with more than 75 years of experience designing, manufacturing, servicing, rerating, upgrading, repairing, and troubleshooting standard and custom-engineered cryogenic and warm gas centrifugal turbomachinery for global markets including industrial gases, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons. Customers are served globally through regional service centers supported by regional and centralized execution teams.

- Demonstrated proficiency using torque wrenches, power tools, and hand tools in precision mechanical assembly applications.
- Proven ability to accurately use precision measuring equipment, including calipers and micrometers, and document measurements to required tolerances.
- Hands-on experience operating turning and milling machines in a manufacturing or repair environment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, bills of material, and inspection requirements with minimal supervision.
- Experience building crates and preparing heavy machinery or industrial equipment for shipment in accordance with packaging requirements.
- Current or prior experience safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, and related lifting equipment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/data management systems; SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Competency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word for production documentation, inventory records, and communication.
- Uncompromising safety-first mindset with demonstrated adherence to shop safety procedures, lifting practices, and quality requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, identify, store, issue, and control materials, parts, tools, and equipment in accordance with storeroom and inventory procedures.
- Perform shipping and receiving operations, including wrapping, packing, weighing, stenciling, addressing, crating, uncrating, loading, and unloading materials and finished products.
- Prepare, verify, and maintain required shipping, receiving, inspection, inventory, and production documentation accurately and on time.
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, overhead cranes, lifting equipment, and company vehicles as required to support production and material movement.
- Perform inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and enter or retrieve information in ERP systems to support material accuracy and production readiness.
- Support production by performing mechanical assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, handling, and preparation of turbomachinery components and related equipment.
- Consistently meet production schedules, communicate risks to schedule adherence, and adjust priorities as directed by supervision.
- Perform full part inspections as required, using appropriate measuring tools and documenting results in accordance with quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area consistent with shop standards and safety expectations.
- Work with pressure-containing vessels and/or test equipment while following all applicable safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
- Operate dynamic or single-plane balancing equipment or demonstrate the ability to become qualified within the required training period.
- Complete required training, maintain qualifications, and demonstrate the ability to work independently once trained.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of consistent hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, machining, turbomachinery, automotive, diesel, or closely related mechanical work is required.
- Technical school certificate or associate degree in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, machining, automotive, diesel, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform precision work with excellent attention to detail, strong quality ownership, and consistent documentation accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work performed, escalate issues clearly, and coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, union manufacturing environment while responding quickly to changing priorities and production needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial mechanical assembly, machinery maintenance, rebuilds, automotive or diesel engine assembly, or comparable precision mechanical work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment qualifications, including forklift, crane, hoist, and other shop equipment certifications as applicable.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Availability to work 1st shift, 6:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., Monday through Friday, with reliable and consistent attendance.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as business needs require.
