Citibank, N.A. seeks an Applications Development Technical Lead Analyst for its New York, NY location.
DUTIES: Ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements. Analyze user needs and software requirements for FX eTrading to determine feasibility of design ultra-low latency connectivity to new markets within time and cost constraints. Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards. Modify existing eTrading software by using core Java - including threading, sockets/networks to correct errors, troubleshoot production issues and improve performance. Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint. Implement quality code using ultra-low latency technologies. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation. Collaborate with systems analysts, business product managers, programmers and other internal business users covering FX Trading to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals. Consult with users, or other stakeholders on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Design, develop and modify software eTrading Platform using strong core Java – including threading, sockets/networks, JMH benchmarking to predict and measure performance outcomes and consequences of design. Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation designing ultra-low latency applications to distribute large amounts of market data. Six (6) years of experience must include: Designing and optimizing low-latency Java applications using advanced concurrency techniques, including GC-free and allocation-free designs, thread affinity, CPU pinning, and hardware-aware programming; Implementing contention-free, event-driven architectures using ring buffers, lock-free algorithms, and frameworks such as LMAX Disruptor and Agrona; Developing high-performance messaging and networking solutions leveraging Aeron, Solace (FIX over TCP/UDP, multicast, pub/sub), and Simple Binary Encoding (SBE), including kernel-bypass concepts; Building FX eTrading systems using modern enterprise Java with the Spring framework and Microservices architecture, including REST APIs and Swagger; Implementing and monitoring time-series metrics for FX instruments with Prometheus and Kibana; and Applying full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles to design, develop, test, and deliver robust software solutions.
