Cortex DB is building the AI-native database of the future rethinking how applications store, query, and reason over data in a world where AI agents are the primary consumers of information. We're an early-stage, high-conviction team and we're moving fast. The company was founded by a team from IIT Delhi, including an ex-PM from Flipkart, repeat founders, and serial entrepreneurs and is led by Founder Prashant Malik, co-creator of Apache Cassandra, the distributed database that powers some of the world's largest technology companies. Prashant is a Web 2.0 veteran who has seen infrastructure revolutions from the inside, and he's building Cortex DB to be the foundational data layer for the AI era. If you want to learn what it actually takes to build a category-defining developer tool from zero to one, this is the room to be in.
The Opportunity: The AI and agentic space is exploding with new companies, new use cases, new infrastructure every week. Bangalore is at the center of it. Conferences, meetups, and developer events are happening constantly, and this role puts you right in the middle of it all. We're looking for someone who is already showing up to these events not because they have to, but because they genuinely want to understand where AI is going. If that's you, we want to make those trips count. You'll be our eyes and ears on the ground, the person who connects Cortex DB with the engineers and teams building the next wave of AI applications and in the process, get an unfiltered education in how a world-class team does early-stage customer acquisition for a developer tools
product.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include
Spread the word about Cortex DB: Show up at AI, agentic, and developer-focused conferences and events across Bangalore and get people excited about what we're building. Hand out materials, strike up conversations, and leave people with a clear sense of who Cortex DB is and why it matters.
Talk to people genuinely: The core of this role is human connection. Chat with engineers, founders, and product builders. Ask them what they're working on. Share what Cortex DB is doing. You don't need a script just curiosity and the ability to hold a good conversation.
Gather feedback along the way: If someone has thoughts on what we're building, capture it. A quick note on what people reacted to, what questions came up, or what they found interesting is genuinely valuable to the team. Low pressure just keep your ears open.
