The Capital Markets Accounting team sits at the center of Coinbase's expanding retail and institutional businesses, providing the accounting foundation for our registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and Broker-Dealer entities. As an Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while supporting some of Coinbase's fastest-growing businesses. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner with Accounting, Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to support new product launches, strengthen financial processes, and help scale the infrastructure behind Coinbase's capital markets platform.
What you'll do
- Support the monthly close for Coinbase's FCM and Broker-Dealer entities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and quarterly and annual reporting.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings to the CFTC, NFA, and other applicable regulators, ensuring accurate and timely execution of daily, monthly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation, responding to audit requests, and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Execute and maintain internal controls over accounting, regulatory reporting, and compliance processes.
