Company Description:Arcata Interactive is a game development studio specializing in end-to-end Unreal Engine production, from early concept and prototyping through launch and live support. The team combines AAA studio backgrounds with the flexibility and creativity of an indie environment. We're looking for a talented 3D Generalist to be a foundational member of our team, helping visualize our exciting indie titles. In this hands-on role, you will define the visual style of our games, creating everything from in-game 3D assets to polished Key Art and Cinematic Animation for our trailers. This role requires an expert eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling to produce visuals that serve as the heartbeat of Arcata's brand.
Responsibilities
- Model, Rig, Weight Paint, texture, and optimize 3D characters, props, and environments for use in-game (Unreal Engine).
- Rig, pose, and render characters for static compositions (posters, thumbnails, social campaigns).
- Animate characters and props for both gameplay and cinematic sequences.
- Work closely with game designers to ensure art assets fit the gameplay requirements and technical constraints.
- Maintain efficient file structures and ensure smooth import/export workflows between DCC tools (Blender/Maya) and the game engine. Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in 3D Precision Modeling, Solid Understanding of Proportions, Ratios, and Measurements.
- Master of character rigging, weight painting, anatomy, and animation principles.
- Proven ability as a 3D character animator, with a demo reel showcasing expressive, polished animation.
- Portfolio of key art / posed renders demonstrating strong composition, lighting, and storytelling.
- Solid grasp of visual design fundamentals (composition, color, lighting, silhouette).
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools and workflows (e.g., Cinema4D, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance, Redshift), including preparing assets to be shared across Digital Content Creation applications.
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of professional experience in 3D art or game development.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 (importing assets, materials, basic lighting).
