The Senior Surety Underwriter is responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the assigned surety portfolio within your region for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The Senior Surety Underwriter is responsible for maintaining existing broker relationships, recommending new broker relationships, effectively marketing surety’s capabilities, and underwriting profitable business in Canada.

Key Responsibilities/What You Do:
Working with the VP of Surety in Canada, executing on the established strategic business plan in order to maintain and expand Allianz Trade North America’s Surety business in Canada.
Developing and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships in the local market.
Documenting all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.
Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by Allianz Trade.
Collaborating with Allianz Trade colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage Allianz Trade’s surety capabilities and existing customer base.
Attending industry groups and local surety events, as requested by the VP of Surety

4 years+ industry experience

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in Canadian market
Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives
Established track record developing business with brokers
4 year university degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance
Proven ability to underwrite and grow a surety portfolio
Strong relationships with local brokers
Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and risks
Proven track record of successful underwriting results
Ability to work in fast paced, service driven environment
Strong attention to detail
Sound time management and interpersonal skills in order to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team environment

Ability to work with limited oversight

Développer et souscrire un portefeuille rentable d'activités de cautionnement grâce à un engagement actif sur le marché de la caution avec des relations de courtier existantes et nouvelles sur le marché local.
Documenter toutes les décisions et recommandations de manière cohérente et transparente.
Mener des activités de souscription de comptes et de portefeuilles conformément aux directives de souscription et aux exigences de gestion de portefeuille établies par Allianz Trade en Canada.
Collaborer avec les collègues d'Allianz Trade à travers les Amériques et à l'international afin de tirer pleinement parti des capacités de cautionnement d'Allianz Trade et de la clientèle existante.
