What you'll be doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Technology team. As the Azure Data Platform Support Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully managing EDGE Data Platform support and integration of applications. You will be supporting data quality checks, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions. Working closely with Site Reliability Engineers to automate day to day tasks.

How you'll succeed
- Development - Perform and coordinate complicated application issues and fixing activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure monitoring and observability using specific tools, programming languages, utilities. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
- Strategic planning – Help team multi-year reliability roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple automation of toil tickets involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and prioritize multiple support requests.
- Leadership skills - Act as the Platform support escalation point for issues with data ingestion, consumption, pipelines running on the EDGE platform. Proactively monitor data pipeline health to ensure stability and uptime. Support and collaborate with team members by sharing knowledge and problem solving ability. Strong communication skills to interact with both business and technical teams.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience in: KQL (Azure query language to build logs) and building Azure workbook or dashboard on Databricks. You are Comfortable solving issues with Databricks. You has solid experience in cloud platforms like Azure, Spark operations and notebooks (Databricks), Pyspark, Data pipeline orchestration (Azure Data Factory), ADLS, Azure workbooks, Kql, Grafana. Strong SQL and Python for troubleshooting, knowledge of data pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT), and experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).It’s an asset if you have worked for Site Reliability teams and understand SLI/SLOs and Error budgets.
